XXXTentacion Released from Jail

Look at him! Jahseh Onfroy, better known as XXXTentacion, was released from jail on bail on March 26, 2017. XXXTentacion was admitted into jail on October 14, 2016 after he violated parole and allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. The release of X pleased his extremely loyal fan base.

Onfroy was born in Plantation, Florida, on January 23, 1998. He grew up in Pompano Beach, where as a young child, he ran into a lot of trouble. He constantly was neglected by his mother, which caused him to make some bad decisions.

X began making music in 2014, with the release of “Vice City” on SoundCloud. He met $ki Mask the Slump God in juvenile detention, and they began making music together.

XXXTentacion gained a lot of popularity and a cult-like following during his time in jail. His song, “Look At Me!,” gained a lot of traction and stirred up much controversy. The song has amassed over 50 million plays on SoundCloud.

After being arrested in July 2016 for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, he posted bail in October. He was awaiting trial when he was arrested again in the same month for false imprisonment, witness tampering, and aggravated battery of a pregnant victim.

As he was waiting for trial, his song “Look At Me!” went viral. XXXTentacion’s fanbase only grew when Drake supposedly stole X’s style. On a song he leaked in Amsterdam, you can hear Drake using the same rhythm as “Look At Me!”

Once Drake released the full song in “More Life” on March 18, 2017, people made side by side comparisons of the two songs. You can clearly hear how similar the songs are - “...the cadence is exactly the same,” said X.

Once XXXTentacion was released from jail, he conducted an interview with 103.5 The Beat, which is a radio station based in Miami. On the interview, XXXTentacion calls out Drake and talks about the new projects that he wanted to drop this year.

XXXTentacion plans to release three solo projects and one large project with his collective, Members Only. He plans to release Members Only Volume 3, now that he’s out of jail.

His future solo projects include: “17,” “I Need Jesus,” and “Revenge.” Many XXXTentacion fans are looking forward to hearing these projects from him later this

year. There is no doubt that he will continue to stir controversy.
