What's New at Key Club
Since 1925, Key Club has affected a multitude of lives through their core values: Caring, Inclusiveness, Character Building, and Leadership. Key Club being a non-profit service organization, has always done their best to support and serve the home, school, and communities throughout the world. Our very own West Career and Technical Academy also has a Key Club.
With over 100 members every year and over thousands of service hours, WCTA Key Club has made a name for itself in the school. You might ask, “So what are they doing now?” Nearing the end of the this years Key Club term, club elections have started to be on the minds of many members. They are all preparing for the elections and a few are also candidates.
One candidate, Presley Ibe, described, “I really want to do something for Key Club. I have been in Key Club for 3 years and I want to show the people my same feelings for it I felt freshmen year.” Running for Sergeant At Arms, or SAA for short, he has to prepare his speech, create a cheer, and also tackle the other work for school. There are much more candidates and it seems as if everyone is doing their best to get prepared.
The current Vice President of Key Club, Nikolai Apilado, said, “I am excited for the next term and most, if not all, seem to be amazing candidates. I have good hopes for the future and cannot wait to see the new board.”
Key Club is an amazing club and there are a lot of fantastic opportunities for everyone! If you have a passion for service, want to make new bonds and friends, and build your leadership skills, do not be afraid to join Key Club! They meet after school every Thursday and are always open to new members. Go out there and “Shine with Service!”
