Luke Perry's Tragic Passing

American actor Luke Perry has suddenly passed away last Thursday on March 04, 2019. In order to remember the gifted and heart-felt actor, a walk down memory lane seems fit.

Perry got his first big break when he was only 24. He played “Dylan McKay” on the hit show of the 90’s, Beverly Hills: 90210. Luke was on the show from 1990 to 2000, and America just couldn’t get enough of him.

While Perry was on the show, he starred in movies such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Fifth Element. He was the nation’s hot new actor on the scene, and every teenage girl’s major crush.

Between 2000 and 2017 Luke Perry played roles in smaller films and guest appeared on T.V. shows here and there. But in early 2017, Luke got another big break when he landed the role of “Fred Andrews” on the new show of Riverdale.

On Riverdale, Perry played the father of “Archie Andrews” played by KJ Apa. While filming the show, Perry grew very close friendships with many of the fellow cast members and was like a “father figure” to all. The show been running for its second year now.

Unfortunately, Perry’s career and life was ended abruptly by what officials are saying was a “massive stroke”. He was pronounced dead on Thursday, March 04, 2019. He was only 52 years old.

Many family and friends were by his side during this difficult time. It was reported that his son, daughter, ex-wife, fiancee, mother, step-father, brother, and sister were all there with him, supporting him till the end.

Not only did his passing hurt his family tremendously, but it also created a huge impact on many Hollywood stars that had the honor of working with him throughout the years.

Many of the actors that have worked with Perry shared their feelings on social media. Co-stars of Beverly Hills: 90210 like Shannen Doherty opened up and said, “I am in shock. Heartbroken. Devastated by the loss of my friend. I have so many memories with Luke that make me smile and that are forever imprinted on my heart and mind.”

Brian Austin Green, another co-star from 90210 shared, “Luke was a special guy. I’m still mourning over it so there’s a part of me that’s kind of shocked that I’m speaking about Luke this way.”

From the more recent show, Riverdale, co-stars were torn apart when hearing the news. Apa, who played Perry’s son on the show posted a simple picture and his caption read, “Rest in love bro.” Molly Ringwald, who played Perry’s wife, also posted a photo of them too and said, “My heart is broken. I will miss you so much Luke Perry.”

Since the show Riverdale is still running, many fans have questions to the writers with how they will address Perry passing on the show. Riverdale writers opened up to say, “ ...we are I think all still in shock and are still processing and grieving”. Roberto Aguirre Sacasa explained that, “It will never be the same.”

Luke Perry will forever be remembered, and his legacy will continue to live on. May he rest in peace. Thank you for everything.
