January 9, 2022, the world became shocked when ‘Full House’ Star and comedian Bob Saget was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando, Florida. He was just 65 years old.
Saget, born May 1956, had a career in acting and being a stand-up comedian for many years. Becoming first known through America’s Funniest Home Videos (AFV) many found the actor funny and great at what he does. He acted in some movies and TV shows like ‘New York Minute’
with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and ‘How I Met Your Mother’ with Neil Patrick Harris and Josh Radnor. When Saget first started being the host of AFV, many found him enjoyable, but it was his acting career that got him very popular.
Saget had a big impact in the 90’s and late 2000’s for many families. He hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos for eight seasons, lasting from 1990 until 1997. He also starred as one of the popular TV dads, becoming Danny Tanner in Full House, the father of DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle Tanner.
"I grew up watching him on Full House and I was really sad when I heard he had passed," said sophomore Sienna DeMonbrun. The show later came back for a reboot in 2016, called ‘Fuller House’ and lasted for five seasons until 2020.
"Saget had a big impact on me and my family. We used to watch Full House in the living room growing up and it was really fun. We also watched Fuller House every moment that we could. It is really sad to hear about his passing and it is unfortunate that it happened," said freshman Carson Francis.
Many are devastated by his death. Rest well Saget, America will miss you.
