Joe Biden the 46th President of the U.S.A!

What does it mean to be President of the United States? Surely integrity, nobility, and leadership are involved, but how does one prove that they hold these attributes to be true to themselves? The Presidential Election, of course! As we wrap up the end of 2020, we have also reached the end of the 2020 presidential election, where former Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden remains victorious, making him the 46th President-elect of the United States and allowing him to take office on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021.

During these hard times, the presidential election may have seemed like a delicate subject for many to talk about amongst each other. It certainly had many people excited and scared about who was going to lead the free world starting next year. “Before the election results were released, I was a little excited but nothing too serious,” said Freshman Nima Motamedi. In addition to the CoronaVirus pandemic, many mail-in ballots were sent in and needed to be counted over the course of several days. Although many felt anxious about the possible results, others weren’t too worried. “I wasn’t that suspenseful while watching the election, although I was still curious as to how things would turn out,” said Freshman Mat Feris.

Newly elected Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have also made history in all of the USA. President-elect Joe Biden will take office at 78 years old, making him the oldest president ever to take office. On the other hand, Vice President-elect Harris is the first female Vice President of South Asian and African American descent.

With all that has happened within this year of 2020, the conflict between political parties is quite high. Some doubt the election results, such as President Donald Trump himself, claiming the election results are fraudulent. President Trump has also yet to concede the election and strongly believes that he should have come out victorious. Although with no real evidence to back up his claim, it’s highly unlikely the results will change.
