On August 23, 2021, the internet broke with the release of the long awaited Spiderman: No Way Home trailer. The movie will be the last installment of the Spiderman trilogy, but just how much are fans expecting from it?
“I think it’s absolutely worth going, I’m really mostly excited to see old characters coming back like Doc Ock,” said Sophomore Rowan Usitall.
Since the trailers came out, fans have been impatiently waiting for the movie to hit the big screen. The movie is set to premiere on December 17, 2021 and so far it’s set to star Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Marisa Tomei.
“I feel like there's a suspense on waiting for it, I see a lot of theories of what and who is going to be in the movie, so I think there is a huge expectation that I have that helps me get more excited,” said Sophomore Andrew Calinog when asked what he was excited for.
Marvel Studios has been keeping this project secret, leaving fans to theorize the plot of the film. For example, many fans theorized that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, two actors who had the role before Holland, will be in the movie. Both of the actors have denied their involvement in the movie on several occasions.
However, people aren’t convinced. Recently Maguire, Garfield, Holland and several other confirmed actors were spotted together, only adding fuel to the fire for theories and more headaches for Kevin Feige .
Tickets went on sale November 29, and the moment they were available, theaters everywhere started selling out fast. The movie broke the record in pre-sold tickets that was previously held by Avengers: Endgame unjust one day.
There's no doubt about how excited people are for the movie. However, if these theories aren’t true, how will the fans react, and what effect will it have on Marvel Studios box office?
